Fetchnotes Helps Ease Managing To Do Lists And Team Collaboration

Taking notes, posting them and sharing with your team is quite a daunting task. There are definitely a few handy tools and applications out there on the Internet for your mobile devices and while many do all the work, a few only simplify things. The biggest issue? I think the biggest issue is with making note taking a feature for every device. You shouldn’t need an iPhone or an Android based devise to get this done, don’t you? Well a latest startup, Fetchnotes helps you with exactly that.

What Does Fetchnotes Do?

What the startup does is create for users a suite of Fetchnotes applications that help you with organizing and adjusting your to do’s, reminders and ideas with your workflow. This is done by simplifying the process of submitting tasks and to dos in the simplest of manner. You can use the applications that Fetchnotes has on the different mobile platforms or more effectively by sending an SMS, email or an instant message. The latter I think is of immense value as it immediately brings Fetchnotes to every user; whether they use an iPhone, the Android, Windows Phone or their mobile device is limited to sending text messages and calls only.

How To Use Fetchnotes?

Just to provide a brief guide on how to use this startup. You can register for an account, add your mobile number and you are sent a short code of 5 digits. This is the number where you can send messages to with relevant hashtags and @ to create tasks and share the same with a particular group or individual. This ensures ease of collaboration within teams and groups, also making the same collaboration quick and more efficient with the use of features that Fetchnotes provides.

Unique Features of Fetchnotes

Fetchnotes provides quite a lot of features. I haven’t explored all of them and I am sure there are plenty. A brief list of Fetchnotes features includes:

  • You can submit or add notes to Fetchnotes via SMS or Instant Messages. I am not aware of other apps that provide this feature from Fetchnotes (if there are any, do leave a link in the comments)
  • You can assign ‘# (hashtags)’ to help yourself with organizing your notes.
  • The ‘@’ can be used on Fetchnotes to share your notes with individuals or groups within your organization or lists. This is a clever use of # and @ to help with organizing your notes, instead of manually assigning categories. An example would

#email mohkim #todo @chase

That would assign the note to the list on the Chase’s to do list along with a list of people to email. The person handling Chase could view all of his to do’s, or only his to do’s that are also tagged with email, only notes added by assignee.

  • You can easily integrate Fetchnotes with the apps you use daily. Like Evernote, Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook etc.

I see a lot of convenience in using the service. Especially given the simplicity it offers. I am sure anyone exploring Fetchnotes for a little while will be able to figure out many more uses of the startup. Do let us know how you are using Fetchnotes.
